WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!
NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE can only take a VERY limited number of dogs into foster care and it's completely dependent on the availability of foster homes. At the moment our waiting list is beyond foster homes available. New Hope provides food, crates and covers all medical expenses. You get to play a HUGE role in a dogs life and see them find a loving home of their own. If you can help please email us for our foster home application today! It is a very rewarding experience knowing you have helped a dog that didn't have any other options

2007 - New Hope was able to rescue 112 dogs!!!
THANK YOU to eveyone who helped us out in 2007. We had some enormous medical bills (Sophie - broken leg, Britta - cruciate repair, Joule - broken leg, Ernie -parvovirus, etc). We started microchipping this year too! We sent many of our dogs to obedience to get them off on the right paw! We feel very lucky to have changed the lives of some pretty awesome dogs!!

We could not have done all this without our amazing foster homes! We also have had some amazing support from the community! While there are too many to mention we would like to mention those that made a real effort to help us (alphabetical order): Thank you so much for your support and help!!

Low Cost Spay & Neuter Program for Low Income dog owners

All dogs must be vaccinated before a spay or neuter can be done. Owner?s must pay for the cost of vaccination or present proof of vaccination to be eligible.

NHDR will pay 100% of spay/neuter cost for applicants with proof of being on Social Assistance.

Other applicants will be assessed on a "case by case" basis and NHDR directors will award a percentage of the spay/neuter cost depending on assessed need.
NHDR directors will make arrangements at the vet clinic of OUR choice.

Our organization is run only by volunteers. In order to keep our costs low and be able to help dogs we need volunteers to help us with everything we do. We have many opportunities for volunteers, if you have some time to give to help out the dogs please contact us!

Who We Are
New Hope Dog Rescue (NHDR) will foster stray, abandoned, neglected, unwanted, and abused dogs and re-home them. NHDR members will strive to find the right home best suited to an individual dog. We will not place dogs simply as a means to move them out. NH defines a “good” home as one that is a match for the dog’s temperament, energy level and training requirements. A good home must meet both the physical and psychological needs of the dog.

NHDR strives to educate the public on humane treatment, lifelong commitment, responsible dog ownership, and population control through spaying and neutering. NHDR is a registered non-profit organization. All the money raised goes directly to the dogs!

Adopting a friend
At New Hope Dog Rescue our dogs are our main concern. Rescued, homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused dogs have been through enough upheaval once, we don't want them to experience it again. To ensure this we go through what may seem a lengthy process. We want potential adopters to be fully aware of the responsibilities involved in loving and giving a home to one of our dogs. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescue dogs you can expect to be involved in the following process:

1. Fill in the application.
2. Once we have the application, our adoption co-ordinator will get the foster home to tell you all about the dog and set up a time for you to meet. All family members must be present. For distance adoptions, we go to step 3 prior to people meeting the dog.
3. If everyone decides that dog and people are a good match, a home visit is done prior to adoption.
4. Once approved, the family can take the dog for a trial up to 2 weeks before making a final decision about keeping the dog.
5. If the family decides that the dog should become a permanent member of the household, then adoption contract is signed and adoption fee is paid
6. New Hope wants this move to be the last one for the dog, we are always available to help with any issues that arise once the dog has been adopted.
The adoption fee covers the basic costs the rescue has incurred (eg. spay/neuter, vaccination and microchipping costs). Adults and puppies are $160, Seniors are $80. We require a $100 neuter/spay deposit for unfixed puppies that is refunded when the spay or neuter is done.

We will accept out of town applications and they will be reviewed on a case by case basis. References and a home visit will be required.
